AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal accused the ruling BJP of pursuing a political vendetta, and linked the arrest to the party's recent victory in the Visavadar bypoll.

“The BJP has been rattled after losing to AAP in the Visavdar byelection. But if they think such arrests will scare AAP, it’s their biggest mistake. The people of Gujarat are now fed up with the BJP’s misrule, hooliganism and dictatorship, and the people of Gujarat will now give the BJP a befitting answer,” Kejriwal said in a post on X.

Meanwhile, the Dediapada police have registered an FIR under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges of attempt to murder, criminal intimidation, outraging a woman’s modesty and destruction of public property against the accused MLA.
