Amid rising Indo-Pak tensions, Pakistan was left in an embarrassing situation as its X handle of ministry of economic affairs flashed an appeal for loan to international partners.

The ministry later stated on Friday that its X account had been hacked and denied posting the tweet appealing for fiscal aid amid its face-off with its neighbour India.

"We are working to have the Twitter (X) switched off," the ministry told Reuters, adding that they "did not tweet" about it.
