A Hyderabad man allegedly killed his wife, chopped the body and boiled the parts in a pressure cooker.

Gurumurthy (45), a former soldier, works as a security guard with the Defence Research and Development Organisation. Venkata Madhavi (35) was reported missing by her family on January 18. When the police questioned her husband, he confessed to have committed the crime.

The Rachakonda police is making all efforts to recover the body parts of Madhavi. Gurumurthy has claimed to have dumped the body parts in a lake.

“Efforts are being made, but the body parts could not be found. It still looks like a missing case,” a police official said.

Gurumurthy even accompanied his in-laws when they lodged a complaint with the Meerpet police on January 18. The police had registered an FIR as ‘woman missing’.

As per the FIR, the wife quarrelled with Gurumurthy on January 16 and left their home without intimation anyone. She did not return home, prompting the relatives to lodge a complaint. Gurumuthy is a native of Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The couple had two children.
