A senior Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the terrace of his building in Chanakyapuri here, a senior police officer said on Friday.

The deceased, identified as Jitendra Rawat, lived on the first floor with his mother. He is survived by his wife and two children, who reside in Dehradun. Reports suggest that he had been suffering from depression for some time and was undergoing treatment.

According to the police, no suicide note was found at the scene. “Our teams visited the spot. Prima facie, no foul play is suspected,” the officer said.
