Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday rued that although one year had passed since landslide incidents occurred in her constituency on July 30 last year, the Centre had not declared it as a natural disaster. She also urged the Centre to waive of Rs 90 crore, which it had given as a loan to meet rehabilitation works in Wayanad. “Despite several pleas, only a nominal amount was released for rehabilitation work and that too as a loan. The government should think of waiving of this amount,” Gandhi said during Zero Hour.

In a crackdown on cybercrime-linked telecom fraud, the Centre has disconnected over 85 lakh mobile connections, with the highest number in Rajasthan, followed by Bihar and West Bengal, revealed Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia in the Lok Sabha. As per the minister, 3.57 lakh mobile numbers linked to cybercrime complaints were directly blocked. Besides, over 82 lakh mobile connections were weeded out after failing the reverification process.

Rs 1.96L-crore railway projects stalled

The government has scaled up annual funding for rail projects from Rs 11,527 crore during 2009–14 to Rs 68,785 crore in 2025–26. But execution has failed to keep pace as 97 sanctioned projects, worth over Rs 1.96 lakh crore, remain stuck or incomplete. The Railway Ministry admitted that large sections of the 97 ongoing projects remain incomplete despite an outlay of Rs 1,96,155 crore. In Rajasthan alone, only 1,238 km had been commissioned out of 3,409-km sanctioned for construction under 28 projects.
