A year after violent protests had broken out in West Bengal's Sandeshkhali over the alleged sexual
harassment of local women, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the town for the first time since the incident and slammed the BJP and CPM.

Mamata said, “The BJP has a lot of money, don't fall for money from the BJP! This money is not the money of justice, the CPM is a party of hypocrites”.
She further said mothers and sisters were the pride of the nation.
Mamata said many projects had been inaugurated and roads, dams, water treatment plants, community buildings were constructed in Sandeshkhali.
