India and the US today held a 2 2 inter-sessional dialogue. “Key discussions covered bilateral strategic and defence priorities, alongside regional and global issues,” said Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs.

Officials from the India’s Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Defence and the US State and Defence Departments took part in the discussions.

Donald Lu, Assistant Secretary of State for Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the US State Department, was leading the US delegation.

US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs Jedidiah P. Royal was also part of the delegation.

The dialogue was to identify opportunities to enhance the US-India bilateral partnership, including defence cooperation, and expand collaboration in the Indo-Pacific.

In the next meeting, India is set to raise the matter of delay in the supply of F404 engines for the indigenous Tejas fighter jet and pending military proposals technology tie-ups.
