Three individuals, including an Indian national, were arrested and more than 22 kg of hashish were seized in a town near the Indo-Nepal border on Thursday.

The arrested individuals include Mukesh Kumar, 29, and two Nepalese accomplices — Maksud Ansari, 29, and Ramlal Sahani, 20. The trio was detained near Bishwo Hotel in Birgunj Metropolitan City, along with 22.5 kg of hashish, according to local police.

The Indian national, whose identity has not been revealed, was accompanied by Ansari and Sahani, both residents of Bara Simraungadh Municipality in Southern Nepal.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the case after taking the suspects into custody.
