Thought-provoking Opinions, Expert Analysis, In-depth Insights and other Member Only BenefitsFollowing the Meghalaya police’s statement that Sonam, the wife of Raja Raghuvanshi, has surrendered, Raja's brother, Vipul Raghuvanshi, on Monday said they did not believe that Sonam had got her husband killed unless she confessed to the crime.
He said if Sonam is involved, she should be punished.
Vipul also demanded a CBI probe, saying the Meghalaya police hadn’t responded to their calls or shared details of the case.
Speaking to reporters, Vipul said, “We were informed that Sonam was found in Uttar Pradesh. Sonam was taken away by the police. She did not surrender. We don’t believe Sonam is the culprit unless she confesses to this. Both Raja and Sonam were happy in their marriage. I never saw the two fight. Police have not handed us the post-mortem report of my brother.”
He said, “The Meghalaya CM keeps saying the police are working 24x7 on the case, but we kept calling the SP and he never picked up our phone. We have no idea how Sonam reached Ghazipur. We want the Madhya Pradesh Police and the CBI to investigate the case.”
