By 2030, India would achieve 500 GW of installed electricity capacity from non-fossil fuels and 50 per cent of installed electric power was already achieved through non-fossil fuels, Union Minister of new and renewable energy (MNRE) Pralhad Joshi said on Wednesday at the curtain raiser of the eighth assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).

ISA is the largest treaty-based intergovernmental organisation from the Global South, bringing together 124 member and Signatory Countries. This ministerial gathering comes weeks ahead of COP30 in Brazil, shaping priorities for scaling solar energy.
