Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of focusing on the past instead of addressing present and future challenges.

“One who lives in the past, how can that person focus on the present and future?” Kharge said in a post on X.

Reacting to Modi’s speech in the RS, Kharge claimed the PM ignored critical issues such as unemployment, inflation, economic inequality, recession, falling rupee, declining private investment and the failure of ‘Make in India’, instead choosing to blame the Congress.

Kharge alleged that Modi sidestepped discussions on schemes for Dalits, tribals, backward classes, minorities and the poor, and instead misled the House by distorting historical facts.
