Prasar Bharati’s radio division, Akashvani, on Friday launched FM channel ‘Kumbhvani’ – which is dedicated to disseminating information related to the Mahakumbh-2025.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the FM channel during the second day of his Prayagraj tour ahead of the congregation.

“Prasar Bharati has launched the OTT-based Kumbhvani FM channel to disseminate comprehensive information about the Mahakumbh. Broadcasting at a frequency of 103.5 MHz, the channel will be on air from January 10 to February 26, operating daily from 5.55 am to 10.05 pm,” the UP Government said in the statement.

Adityanath said that the radio channel would cater to all the people, who were unable to visit the Kumbh this time, especially in rural areas.

“The radio channel will enable those in far areas to experience Mahakumbh and share the pride of this grand celebration of Sanatana Dharma. The Mahakumbh is not merely an event, but a monumental celebration of the Sanatana Dharma’s pride, glory and unity,” he said.

Recalling his childhood, Adityanath spoke about how he would listen to broadcasts of ‘Ramcharitmanas’ on Akashvani. “Over a period of time, Doordarshan revolutionised mass media and introduced people to the visual medium,” he said.

Adityanath said there was a growing interest among international visitors who want to understand the depths of spirituality at Mahakumbh.

“Here, there are no barriers of sect, caste or gender. People from all walks of life gather to bathe in the same water, united in faith and carrying the message of the ‘Sanatana pride’ to the entire world,” he added.
