The Health Ministry has issued a show-cause notice to AR Dairy Food Private Ltd, one of the companies that supplied ghee to the Tirupati temple to prepare laddoos.

The notice sent by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the government’s food regulatory authority, said the samples of ghee manufactured by AR Diary had failed to meet the required parameters.

“The ghee procurement committee of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has sent all the samples supplied for testing to NDDB CALF Lab at Anand, Gujarat,” the FSSAI said.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
