Lord Rama’s teachings behind ‘sabka saath...’ push, PM Modi writes to President

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday pitched “priority to the poor” as the core of his governance strategy and said Lord Rama’s message of “sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas and sabka prayas” was the guiding force behind the ruling dispensation’s welfare schemes for the deprived.

In a reply to President Droupadi Murmu, who had written to him on the eve of Ram Temple inauguration in Ayodhya, he said: “Like you said, we not only worship Lord Rama but also draw inspiration from him in all aspects of life. In your letter you spoke of the PM JANMAN scheme and its potential to improve the lives of the most backward Scheduled Tribes. Our culture has always taught us to work for the underprivileged. Many more schemes like PM JANMAN are today transforming the lives of our people.”

PM Modi spoke of Lord Rama and his thoughts as the foundations for India’s glorious future and told the President that the government’s work for the poor was constantly inspired by the Lord.

“It was Lord Rama who, in all aspects of life, gave the inspiration of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas, sabka prayas’. The outcomes of this mantra are visible everywhere today. In the past decade 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty,” Modi said, calling himself a pilgrim to Ayodhya and describing the inauguration of Ram Temple which he led as “a matter of great fortune as well as responsibility.”
