Lucknow Amity University student ‘slapped 50-60 times’ by classmates; video goes viral

The incident came to light after a video of the assault went viral on social media.
The victim, Shikhar Mukesh Kesarwani, a BA LLB student, was accompanied by his friend Soumya Singh Yadav when the alleged attack occurred.
An FIR has been registered against five students: Ayush Yadav, Jahnvi Mishra, Milay Banerjee, Vivek Singh and Aryaman Shukla. The case was registered after a formal complaint from Shikhar’s father Mukesh Kesarwani.
According to his father, Mukesh Kesarwani, the incident has left Shikhar traumatised, and he has stopped attending college since.
He said his son had undergone a ligament surgery on August 11 and was walking with the help of a stick at the time of the attack.
“Jahnvi and Ayush slapped my son at least 50 to 60 times and also hurled abuses at me and my parents. They threatened to kill us,” the victim said.
He also alleged that Vivek and Milay recorded the assault and circulated the video on the campus.

The reason behind the incident could not be immediately ascertained. There was no official statement from Amity University at the time of filing this report.
