Major diplomatic presence at Bhagwat's lectures; no invite for Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey

A significant diplomatic presence has been marking the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) ongoing mega outreach event here. The second day of the three-day lecture series by Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat was attended by representatives from over 55 embassies and more than 30 international organisations.

The gathering included over 10 Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Chargés d’Affaires, alongside nearly 45 other embassy officials. Countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Turkey were not invited to the event.

Prominent diplomats in attendance included Minister Counsellor DCM of the Russian Embassy in India Roman Babushkin and Aaron Cope, Minister Counsellor for Political Affairs from the United States.

Among the senior envoys present were Nepal Ambassador Shankar P. Sharma, Sri Lankan High Commissioner Pradeep Mohshini Colonne, Malaysian High Commissioner Dato Muzafar Shah Mustafa, New Zealand's Acting High Commissioner Matthew, Israel Ambassador Reuven Azar, Australian High Commissioner Phillip Green, Lithuanian Ambassador Diana Mickevičienė, and Serbian Ambassador Sinisa Pavic.

Other notable representatives included officials from Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Ukraine, Denmark, Norway, and the United States, among others.

This is the second major civil outreach being conducted by Bhagwat to correct negative perceptions about the Sangh.

The first was held in 2018. The latest series seeks to acquaint the influencers with the mission and future vision of the RSS.

The RSS will enter its centenary year this October.
