The Ministry of External Affairs stated that President Muizzu will hold discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on bilateral, regional, and international issues. He will also attend business events in Mumbai and Bengaluru.

In August, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited the Maldives, where Muizzu expressed gratitude for India’s assistance and committed to strengthening ties. India recently allowed the Maldives to rollover a $50 million payment due.

Muizzu’s visit signals improved relations between the two nations after initial tensions. The focus will be on strengthening historic ties, debt relief, and economic cooperation.
