MEA takes up handcuffing of Indian with US Embassy

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has formally raised with the US Embassy in New Delhi the case of an Indian national who was allegedly handcuffed at Newark Airport in New Jersey.
The Indian Embassy in Washington DC and the Consulate General in New York are in touch with US authorities to ascertain the facts of the incident, including the circumstances under which the individual was restrained.

So far, no details have been provided by the US side regarding the nature of the incident, the flight the person was scheduled to board, or his final destination. The MEA said it is actively following up on the matter.
