The Manipur government on Saturday extended the suspension of mobile Internet and data services for two more days in seven districts as a precautionary measure, officials said.

Officials of the Home Department said though no incident was reported from any of the seven districts, the suspension of mobile Internet and data services had been extended for two more days as a precautionary measure. It would be effective in seven districts till 5.15 pm on November 25. The seven districts, comprising both the valley and hills, are Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kangpokpi, and Churachandpur.

2 more held for arson at MLAs’ residences

Two more persons were arrested in Manipur for allegedly being involved in vandalism and arson at residences of legislators in Imphal Valley on November 16, the police said on Saturday. With these arrests, the number of people apprehended for arson at the residences of MLAs reached 34, a senior officer said.
