Thought-provoking Opinions, Expert Analysis, In-depth Insights and other Member Only BenefitsCongress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi ended the India-Pakistan conflict “within minutes” after a request from US President Donald Trump. Addressing a rally in Muzaffarpur during his ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’, the Leader of Opposition accused the media of ignoring the episode and “suppressing the Opposition’s voice”.
Rahul claimed the BJP was “stealing votes” to stay in power. “Some time ago, Home Minister Amit Shah said the BJP will rule for 40 to 50 years. How does he know? By stealing votes,” he said, adding that this practice began in Gujarat before 2014 and was later replicated nationwide.
He alleged that the Election Commission manipulated electoral rolls and evidence, citing “proof” from Maharashtra and Karnataka. “We asked for the voter list. They said no. We asked for videography. They said no. Then they passed a law to destroy videography within 45 days,” he told the crowd. Rahul claimed his team uncovered irregularities in Karnataka by sifting through “200 kilos of paper” of voter rolls.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin joined the rally, accusing the BJP of making a “mockery of democracy” and warning that the deletion of 65 lakh voters in Bihar was “more dangerous than terrorism”.
Earlier, Rahul, his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav led a motorcycle procession through Muzaffarpur, drawing large crowds.
Rahul began his journey at 8.30 am on Wednesday from Darbhanga and reached Muzaffarpur by afternoon, where he addressed the rally at Jarang High School ground. The yatra continued through Gayghat, Bochahan, Minapur and Aurai Assembly constituencies before ending at Sitamarhi.
