Officials said the Prime Minister would articulate India’s views across all three main sessions of the summit. The first session, titled "Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth Leaving No One Behind", will deliberate on global trade, development financing and the rising debt burden on vulnerable economies.

The second session, “A Resilient World--the G20’s Contribution”, will take up disaster risk reduction, climate change, just energy transitions and food systems, issues where India has consistently pushed for equitable climate action and enhanced support for developing nations.

The concluding session, “A Fair and a Just Future for All”, will address critical minerals, decent work transitions and the governance of artificial intelligence, all of which have emerged as key strategic themes shaping global economic and technological security.

On the margins of the summit, the Prime Minister is expected to hold several bilateral meetings with world leaders gathered in Johannesburg. He will also join the India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Leaders’ Meeting, a platform that New Delhi sees as essential to amplifying Global South priorities.

Officials said India would use the Summit to underscore the need for renewed multilateralism and fairer global governance at a time when multiple regions are grappling with economic headwinds, climate shocks and geopolitical instability.
