Demanding the scrapping of Agnipath scheme, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge said PM Narendra Modi’s claim regarding the implementation of the Agnipath scheme at the behest of the Army was a “blatant lie” and an “unforgivable insult” to the forces.

Kharge pointed out that former Army Chief General MM Naravane had called the scheme a “bolt out of the blue” for the Navy and Air Force. Taking to X, Kharge said according to news reports, General (retd) MM Naravane had written a book, which was stalled from being published by the Modi government.
