Congress MPs led the offensive with deputy leader of Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi giving the notice in the lower house.

In Rajya Sabha, senior leaders of Congress Randeep Surjewala, Naseer Hussain and Renuka Chowdhary gave the relevant notices.

All MPs demanded that the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor followed by US President Donald Trump's remarks be discussed first of all.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju had on Sunday said that the government was willing to debate all issues.

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday appealed to all parliamentarians for a constructive debate in the house.

"The fifth session of the 18th Lok Sabha is starting from today. In this sacred temple of democracy, the collective role of all our representatives is very important for the expression of people's aspirations and protection of national interests.

“Before the Monsoon Session, I urge the leaders of all parties and honourable members to cooperate in the smooth functioning of the House, constructive debate and healthy democratic dialogue, so that we can take concrete steps for inclusive development, social justice and economic progress.

“It is hoped that this monsoon session, dedicated to values such as dignity of democracy, prestige of Parliament and priority of public interest, will be meaningful and successful and together we will make a meaningful contribution towards further strengthening democratic consciousness, unity in diversity and constitutional values," Birla said amid indications that the houses may not function on Monday.
