Nadda lauds indigenous tech’s growing capability

BJP president JP Nadda on Sunday said the country was witnessing unprecedented development rooted in indigenous thinking and ‘Operation Sindoor’ had further demonstrated India’s growing strength and technological capability.

“In the realm of defence, India’s Budget has crossed Rs 1.30 lakh crore under its self-reliance mission. The recent success of Operation Sindoor and the BrahMos missile test have further demonstrated India’s growing strength and technological capability,” Nadda said, while addressing a seminar marking 60 years of Upadhyaya’s landmark lectures on Integral Humanism.

Hailing PM Modi’s leadership, Nadda said India has emerged as the world’s second-largest mobile phone exporter, ranks third in the toy and automobile sectors, and has significantly advanced in the defence domain.

“Ten years ago, we imported 92 percent mobile phones, but today India is exporting 97 percent mobile phones. In toy industry and automobile market, we stand at the third position,” he said.

Highlighting the government’s “pro-poor” welfare initiatives, Nadda said over four crore permanent houses had been built under the PM Awas Yojana, with a target of building three crore more houses by 2029, 75 percent of which will be registered in women’s names. He added that 12 crore toilets had been constructed.

Referring to the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Nadda said 80 crore people were receiving free food grains. As a result, 25 crore people had risen above the poverty line.

The BJP chief emphasised economic reforms like the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi had directly benefited farmers.
