New Zealand PM Luxon arrives on 5-day India visit
New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon on Sunday began a five-day visit to India with a focus on deepening the bilateral trade and economic ties.
Luxon is visiting India from March 16 to 20 in his first trip to the country as the prime minister. He is accompanied by one of the largest delegations a New Zealand prime minister has ever travelled with.
It is after a gap of nine years that a New Zealand PM is visiting India. The last New Zealand PM to visit India was John Key, who visited India in 2016.
Luxon is scheduled to meet External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar in Delhi.
During his India visit, the New Zealand PM will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House here. Following the meeting, the two sides are slated to exchange MoUs.
Luxon will also meet President Droupadi Murmu and Minister of Health & Family Welfare JP Nadda.
On March 19, New Zealand PM Luxon will arrive in Mumbai where he will meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and state's Governor CP Radhakrishnan.
