Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to reply to general discussions on the Union Budget on July 30, and to the Finance Bill, 2024 and discussions on select ministerial budgets on August 7.

It is learnt that the Lok Sabha business advisory committee has zeroed in on ministries of civil aviation and road transport, railways, health, education, MSMEs/food processing and energy for detailed debates on the Budget.

“These sectors have been zeroed in for focused debate on related ministry budgets. The final list of sectors chosen for discussions will be ready by Thursday. Demands for grants of all other ministries that are not discussed in the House will be guillotined on August 5,” sources said.
