Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday unveiled the design of the reconstruction of the Janaki Temple in Bihar’s Sitamarhi.

This is a significant development as Bihar will go to poll in a few months.

Reconstruction of a grand Sita temple was one of the poll promises of the NDA government in the rup up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The temple is aimed to be constructed on the lines of Ram temple in Ayodhaya.

“I am very happy to inform you that the design of the grand temple and other structures for the holistic development of Jagat Janani Maa Janaki's birthplace Punauradham, Sitamarhi is now ready, which is being shared with you. A trust has also been formed for this so that the construction work can be expedited. We are determined to complete the construction of the grand temple in Punauradham, Sitamarhi soon. The construction of the grand temple of Maa Janaki in Punauradham is a matter of pride and good fortune for all of us Biharis,” Kumar said.
