NZ PM dials Modi; agree to boost ties

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a phone call from his New Zealand counterpart Christopher Luxon, who congratulated him on his re-election following the recent General Election. The Ministry of External Affairs put out a statement saying both leaders reiterated their commitment to taking bilateral cooperation to new heights in the years to come. The two agreed to advance their bilateral ties in various sectors, including trade and economic cooperation, animal husbandry, pharmaceuticals, education and space. TNS

BSF officer, jawan die of heat on patrol

Ahmedabad: A Border Security Force officer and a jawan died during patrol due to exposure to “extreme weather” at the Harami Nallah creek area along the India-Pakistan international front in Gujarat, the force said on Saturday. The incident, in which Assistant Commandant Vishwa Deo and Head Constable Dayal Ram are stated to have suffered heat stroke and dehydration, took place on Friday along the border, official sources said. 14 Indians lured into cybercrime released

New Delhi: Fourteen Indian nationals who have been scammed into joining cybercrime operations, have been released in Cambodia. The Indian Embassy in Cambodia put out a post on X saying “in collaboration with Cambodian authorities, (we) have got 14 Indian citizens trapped in cybercrime scam released. They are being looked after by Cambodian side”. The Embassy of India in Phnom Penh had provided tip-off to the Cambodian Police, leading to the rescue of 14 Indians.
