Speaking at the Hyderabad Liberation Day event in Hyderabad, he said, “Operation Sindoor, 2016 Surgical Strikes and 2019 Balakot Air Strikes are proof that India’s patience is its strength, not weakness, and we choose the path of hard power when negotiations fail to yield any solution.”
He said India believes in dialogue, but also knows how to deliver a befitting response to those who fail to understand the language of peace and goodwill—while crediting the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Referring to the April terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of innocent civilians, Rajnath Singh drew a sharp contrast between the two neighbouring nations.
He said the terrorists killed innocent civilians in Pahalgam based on their dharma, while the Indian Armed Forces killed terrorists and destroyed their hideouts in Pakistan and PoK during Operation Sindoor based on their karma.
The Defence Minister also pushed back against US President Donald Trump's claims of intervening during the India-Pakistan skirmishes in May. He asserted that India firmly rejected any third-party involvement in the ceasefire during Operation Sindoor, stating that no external power can interfere in the country’s internal matters.
Rajnath Singh further commended the courage of those who took part in Operation Polo, the military campaign that led to the liberation of Hyderabad.
He emphasised that it was not merely a military operation, but a decisive act by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel that dismantled the Razakars’ conspiracy and restored Hyderabad to the Indian Union.
He described the success of Operation Polo and Hyderabad’s integration with India as a glorious chapter in the nation’s history, showcasing to the world that India has always been both capable and resolute in protecting its unity.
