​A meeting of the Opposition parties to take a call on the nominee for the Vice-Presidential election scheduled to happen on September 9 will take place here on Monday.

Sources said the meeting will be scheduled in the chamber of Leader of Opposition of the Rajya Sabha and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

The Opposition parties had earlier announced that they will field the joint candidate who will be a non-political person for election to the post of second-highest constitutional office of India.

Meanwhile, the ruling BJP, while announcing the candidature of Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan as the ruling NDA's nominee for the Vice-Presidential poll said it will talk to the Opposition to reach a consensus on the issue.
