Palestine’s senior-most diplomat in New Delhi Chargé d’Affaires Abed Elrazeg Abu Jazer met Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to congratulate her on her victory in the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll.

During the meeting, Priyanka reiterated her support for the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom and independence. The diplomat gifted her a photograph of a meeting between Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, as well as a patterned black-and-white keffiyeh, a traditional Palestinian scarf.

Priyanka expressed her solidarity with the Palestinian cause, recalling her belief in its justice since childhood. She shared memories of meeting Arafat multiple times during his visits to India to meet her grandmother and her father Rajiv Gandhi.

Besides, European Union Ambassador to India, Herve Delphin, met Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Delphin posted on X, “Dense and lively discussion with Rahul, covering a broad range of topics relevant to EU-India relations and the future of our democracies amid global challenges, geopolitical tensions and crises.”
