In a press release, Dr HS Bedi, director, cardiovascular, endovascular and vascular surgery at Park Hospital, Mohali, said, “People should know the importance of the golden hour concept, which means the first 60 minutes after any accident are most important. If an accident victim reaches a hospital with trauma services and an expert medical team, a lot of lives can be saved.”

Addressing the conference, Dr Bedi added, “India reported over 150,000 fatalities and 4,50,000 injuries from road accidents in 2022, involving many vascular traumas. Road accidents in India cause 19 deaths in an hour with 462 deaths in a day.”
