Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, was born in 1469 in Nankana Sahib (now in Pakistan). His message of equality, service to humanity, and devotion to one God transcended religious boundaries and continues to be a guiding light for millions around the world. Gurpurab, the celebration of his birth, is one of the most significant festivals for Sikhs, marked by prayers, processions, and community service.

"May it also motivate us to serve society and make our planet better," the Prime Minister added, reflecting on Guru Nanak’s timeless message of peace and social harmony.
