Operation Sindoor: High symbolism in the name PM chose
With the choice of the name "Operation Sindoor" for retaliatory action in the wake of Pahalgam terror attack, India has sent out a symbolic message to perpetrators who singled out Hindu men for the dastardly attack.
Top sources say Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose the name Sindoor to send back a message to Pakistan trained terrorists that their actions will not go unpunished.
"Sindoor in Hindu faith is a symbol of a woman's matrimony, a symbol she wears with pride as a sign of affection and love for her husband. In Pahalgam attack, Hindu men were chosen for the killing in front of their wives and children and families who were spared and told to go back and give the Prime Minister a message. The Prime Minister has now sent a message back loud and clear in response to the savage and barbaric Pahalgam attack," BJP sources told The Tribune.
The armed forces have also chosen two women officers — Col Sofiya Qureshi and Wg Cdr Vyomika Singh — to brief India and the world on Operation Sindoor alongside Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
The armed forces’ choice of the two women officers for briefing is also significant. BJP leaders said the two women officers are a symbol of united India and a firm answer to Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir’s “two-nation” rant where he said Hindus and Muslims are different in every aspect of their life. Addressing Overseas Pakistani convention in Islamabad, Munir said the story of Pakistan should not be forgotten.
Munir’s provocative statements have widely been seen as a trigger for the Pahalgam terror attack where perpetrators singled out Indian Hindu tourists for the massacre.
