To chalk out the strategy, a two-day conference was convened in New Delhi on July 3-4. The event brought together Directors of Census Operations from across states, senior officials from Directorate of Census Operations and personnel from Office of Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India.

The deliberations at the conference covered a range of critical areas related to the upcoming census—including finalising administrative unit frameworks, leveraging mobile applications for data collection, and real-time tracking of operations through the Census Management and Monitoring System (CMMS) portal.

The government is also planning to facilitate self-enumeration and has emphasised the need for comprehensive training of all census functionaries to ensure smooth execution.
