Priyanka banks on personal connect
The final day of campaigning for the Delhi Assembly elections saw a flurry of activity, as Congress leaders, including Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, made one-last push to sway voters ahead of Wednesday’s elections. The last-day campaign was marked by roadshows, door-to-door interactions and public rallies, as the Congress tried to energise its supporters and appeal to undecided voters.
Priyanka took the lead in Kotla Mubarakpur, holding a roadshow in support of Kasturba Nagar candidate Abhishek Dutt. She interacted with people, distributed pamphlets and campaigned door-to-door for Farhad Suri, Congress’ candidate from Jangpura. Meanwhile, Rahul conducted a roadshow for Kalkaji Assembly candidate Alka Lamba, where he addressed a large crowd.
The Delhi Congress social media handles also shared videos of the Wayanad MP urging the public to vote for the Congress. In one such video, Priyanka endorsed Lokendra Chaudhary, Congress’ candidate from Timarpur, calling him “young, hardworking and dedicated to serving the people with honesty.”
After the roadshow, Alka Lamba posted on her social media account in Hindi, saying, “Today, at the New Life Camp in Kalkaji, the crowd gathered at the roadshow led by the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, shows that the people of Kalkaji trust the Congress. The message is clear — the Congress will form the government with a massive majority in Delhi.”
