Barely 10 days after a humiliating defeat in the Assembly poll, the Building Construction Department has issued a letter to former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi to vacate 10, Circular Road, and shift to another government bungalow — 39 Harding Road.

10, Circular Road, has been the residence of Lalu, Rabri Devi and their family for almost two decades — ever since the RJD was voted out of power in 2005 and Rabri Devi and Lalu had to vacate 1, Aney Marg — the official residence of the Bihar CM.

10, Circular Road, was first allotted to Rabri Devi as a former Chief Minister. Later, she got the bungalow in the capacity of being the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council.

Her younger son, Tejashwi Yadav, has been allotted 1, Polo Road, as the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly — a post he is expected to retain even after defeat as the RJD has 25 MLAs in the House of 243.

The notice issued by the department states that 39, Harding Road, has been earmarked for the Leader of the Opposition in the state Legislative Council.
