There is no proposal to establish a new AIIMS in Jalandhar, said Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda in reply to a question by Congress MP Charanjit Channi in the Lok Sabha on Friday. As many as 22 All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have been approved under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), including in Bathinda that is functional.

1.97 crore AB PMJAY beneficiaries in Punjab

Punjab has as many as 1.97 crore individuals belonging to 45 lakh beneficiary families covered under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PMJAY), said Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav in reply to a question by Lok Sabha MP Amrinder Singh Raja Warring. During the last five years, a total of 19.87 lakh admissions were recorded under the scheme.
