Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying and Panchayati Raj Rajiv Ranjan Singh virtually inaugurated 321 projects under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) during the “Fisheries Summer Meet 2024” organised by the Department of Fisheries in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

As per a statement by the department, the event brought together key stakeholders to deliberate on the progress and future strategies for the development of the fisheries sector. With an outlay of Rs 114 crore, these projects span 19 states and UTs, aiming to enhance the fisheries infrastructure and boost production. The minister emphasised the government’s commitment to transforming the fisheries sector through strategic initiatives and financial support.
