New Delhi, January 30

The seat-sharing talks in the opposition INDIA bloc still underway, the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Tuesday released its first list of 16 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Of them, three are from SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s family — wife Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri and cousins Akshay Yadav (Firozabad) and Dharmendra Yadav (Badaun).

MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq from Sambhal has been re-nominated. Former Congress leader Anu Tandon, who joined the SP, has been fielded from Unnao. The SP has offered the Congress 11 seats, but the latter has maintained that the formula is yet to be finalised.
