The 14th edition of Research Day and the 6th Dr Paarivendhar Research Colloquium were successfully held today at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur.

The event was graced by Founder Chancellor Dr TR Paarivendhar, Vice-Chancellor C Muthamizhchelvan, and Shekhar C Mande, distinguished professor at Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Exceptional research efforts by students and faculty were recognised. Gold medals and certificates were awarded to 47 students and 32 faculty members, while silver medals and certificates were presented to 51 students and four faculty members. In addition, 43 faculty members who had published their work in nature-indexed journals were felicitated. Faculty who were listed among the top 2 per cent scientists for 2024 by Stanford University, and those who had secured research project grants, were also honoured.

In a press release, Dr Paarivendhar said, “We are proud to be one of the pioneers in celebrating Research Day — an initiative that reflects our deep commitment to building a research-driven academic culture.”

The Dr Paarivendhar Research Colloquium was also inaugurated by Shekhar C Mande. Jointly organised by the Directorate of Research and the Department of English and Foreign Languages, it will continue till April 23.
