Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll: BJP fields Navya Haridas against Priyanka Gandhi

The BJP has fielded mechanical engineer Navya Haridas against Congress heavyweight Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll due on November 13.
Haridas did her BTech from KMCT Engineering College, Calicut University, in 2007. She is currently a two-term councillor in the Kozhikode corporation and BJP leader in the House. She is also BJP Mahila Morcha general secretary in Kerala. She had unsuccessfully contested the 2021 state Assembly polls.

With the BJP fielding Haridas, the contest in Wayanad has become triangular.
The ruling LDF had on Thursday fielded CPI veteran Sathyan Mokeri against Priyanka in the seat which Rahul Gandhi vacated after winning two segments in the parliamentary poll. Rahul retained Rae Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh.
The CPI had fielded general secretary D Raja's wife Annie against Rahul in the 2024 Lok Sabha poll in Wayanad. She had lost badly.
