In an official statement, Air India expressed solidarity with the families and individuals impacted by the incident. “We stand in solidarity with the families and those affected by the AI171 accident. We continue to mourn the loss and are fully committed to providing support during this difficult time,” the airline said.

Air India emphasised its ongoing collaboration with the AAIB and other relevant stakeholders. “We acknowledge receipt of the preliminary report released by the AAIB today. Air India is working closely with stakeholders, including regulators. We continue to fully cooperate with the AAIB and other authorities as their investigation progresses,” the statement added.

The preliminary report marks an important step in unraveling the factors leading to the AI171 crash, which has raised safety and operational questions across India’s aviation sector.

The Air India flight bound for London, carrying 242 passengers, crashed shortly after takeoff in a residential area of Ahmedabad on June 12, killing all but one passenger on board, while 19 lost their lives on the ground.
