The Kishtwar police has been able to recover a sum of Rs 1.76 lakh which was defrauded by different victims online.

“The Cybercrime Investigation Unit (CIU), led by SI Moin Khan, tackled multiple cases of online fraud, achieving a recovery Rs 1,76,000. These scams included mobile recharge frauds, unauthorized third-party app installations, deceptive Telegram links promoting fake Aadhaar card updates, and fraudulent trading app schemes” an official informed.

Since its establishment, the CIU Kishtwar has recovered a total of Rs 47,86,618 that was defrauded by victims.

District Police Kishtwar has urged the public to remain vigilant against online scams. “Avoid suspicious links, unauthorized app installations, and sharing personal information online. Report any suspicious activities to the National Cybercrime Helpline at 1930, the Cybercrime Investigation Unit Kishtwar” the official said.
