10 kg brown sugar, arms & ammunition recovered from trio at Sadhna Top

Three persons were arrested after 10 kilograms of brown sugar and arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession during a joint operation of the police and Army in frontier district Kupwara.
“Ten kgs of brown sugar, one AK-47 rifle, two pistols, 20 grenades and other ammunition was recovered by the joint team of Army and Kashmir Police during checking from Sadhna Top, Kupwara in north Kashmir,” the police spokesman said on Sunday.
The spokesman said three persons were arrested during the operation and two vehicles carrying brown sugar and arms and ammunition were also seized from the trio.
The police said further investigations into the case were on and more arrests were likely.
