100 Covid patients recover; 107 fresh cases, one death in J&K

Srinagar/Leh, August 22

Fresh Covid cases are outpacing the number of recoveries in J&K as 107 new cases surfaced while 100 patients recovered on Sunday. Besides, one Covid patient lost his life. Officials said 45 cases, 20 recoveries, and one death was reported from the Jammu division while the Kashmir division saw 62 cases and 71 recoveries. No new cases of black fungus was reported. The caseload is 3,24,202 of which 3,18,635 patients have recovered and 4,402 have succumbed. The active cases are 1,165.

Ladakh recorded eight fresh cases, taking the total cases to 20,491. As many as 12 patients recovered. The active cases have dropped to 68. So far, Ladakh has recorded 207 coronavirus-related deaths. So far, 20,216 patients have recovered from the disease in Ladakh.

The officials said over 3,282 people were tested for Covid in Leh and Kargil on Saturday. Of these, seven tested positive in Leh and one in Kargil. — IANS/PTI
