Eleven cases have been registered against the house and land owners in Samba district for not divulging the information of the tenants and outsiders residing across the district.

The action was taken under Section 163 of the BNSS after it was found that the orders of district magistrate were violated. “The verification process was initiated by the police for the outsiders staying as tenants and domestic helpers. During the drive, five cases were registered at the Samba police station, and three cases each at the police stations of Ghagwal and Vijaypur, respectively,” an official said.

It is pertinent to mention that Samba District Magistrate has already issued the orders for the owners to get the police verification of the tenants done.
