Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba police foiled another bovine smuggling attempt by arresting a smuggler and rescuing 14 bovines. A truck was also seized which was used in smuggling at Mansar.

As per information, a police party of Mansar police post, while performing vehicle checking duty at a check-point, intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK20C-3470. During checking of the vehicle, 14 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.

“The bovine smuggler identified as Shahid Ali, a resident of Dhirti, Jhajjar Kotli, in Jammu district was arrested and the truck used for illegal transportation of bovines has also been seized,” an official said.

A case under Section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Samba police station and investigation started.
