The police have booked 14 shopkeepers and an industrial unit in Samba district for violating the prohibitory orders issued to observe complete lockdown in view of Covid.

Eight cases were registered against 10 shopkeepers for running their karyana shops during the day, violating the timing slots at Jhang, Keranwali, Raika Labana, Gurwal and Chak Baglan villages, Barota Camp and Pakhri area of Samba.

Two karyana shop owners were booked at Bari-Brahmana and a case was registered for violating prohibitory orders whereas two shopkeepers were booked at Vijaypur Police Station. Another case was registered against the management of Industrial Unit Kashmir Chemical, operating from at SIDCO Phase 1. The police said the drive would remain in force and stringent action would be taken against violators.
