Two more persons of the same family tested positive for Covid in Ladakh today, taking the total number of active cases to six in the region. Both patients belong to Sankoo village of Kargil district. This was disclosed by the Commissioner-Secretary Health and UT Ladakh spokesperson, Rigzin Samphel, at a press conference.

He also said out of the 32 samples taken, two had tested positive, while reports of other four samples from Leh and 26 samples of Kargil district were negative. Samphel said both patients had travel history to Iran. They had reached Delhi on February 25 and had further travelled to Leh from Delhi on February 29.

He said 11 members of their family who were found under the high-risk category were isolated in institutional quarantine, while 18 were kept under the low-risk category and were home quarantined. Both positive patients have been shifted to the dedicated Covid-19 hospital in Kargil.
